Hosted by Porsche Omaha, we are holding our 2020 DE 101/Tech event again this year for drivers who are looking to do their first DE along with topics for our experienced DE drivers and we’ll have a garage tech session.
As in previous editions, we will cover all the DE 101 basics for those interested in doing their first DE. From getting registered, car preparation, to what the day will be like. We’ll make sure you are ready for a fun and memorable experience. For our experienced DE drivers, we will refresh everyone on DE standards along with a few standards updates. For the Tech discussion and session this year we will cover alignments with Andy Hipwell, service manager extraordinaire who is inviting us into the garage for a run through of the Porsche alignment process, equipment they use, including before and after data on camber, caster and toe adjustments. Note: They won’t be doing an actual alignment on the car since that would obviously take too long. We will expand our Tech segment discussion to include brakes/brake pads along with the various aspects of tire pressure and how you can approach this black art on track days along with a refresher run through of the various electronic nannies and the original nannies employed by non-electronically aided Porsche’s and their drivers.
Our Chalk-Talk segment will be a discussion on driving line, corner anatomy and the mechanics that facilitate a good line, like braking points, turn-in, throttle and brake control and trail braking. This year, as we work out our DE locations, this segment will be focused on the general aspects of these points vs being track specific.
Have a Porsche Macan or Cayenne, or even a Durango SRT, Lamborghini Urus or Ferrari FF in the garage, please come join us. Our DE sessions (Novice or experienced DE drivers) are not limited to just cars or just Porsches……
There will also be raffle items this year which we are working out the details on, so watch for more information on this.
